Palma de Mallorca, Spain (April 18, 2013) – Spain-based hotel company IBEROSTAR Hotels & Resorts will open IBEROSTAR Playa Mita in December 2013, the brand’s first property in the leisure destination of Riviera Nayarit, Mexico. The all-inclusive resort is located in Playa Mita on a beautiful beach facing the Pacific Ocean and is just 45 minutes from Puerto Vallarta. Designed as a getaway for couples and families alike, IBEROSTAR Playa Mita will offer an extensive list of amenities for guests of all ages and interests.

“The addition of our Riviera Nayarit resort will make a great inclusion to IBEROSTAR’s portfolio of hotels throughout Mexico and will mark our first on the country’s west coast,” said John Long, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, IBEROSTAR Hotels & Resorts. “It’s in an area that is an up-and-coming tourist destination and we’re excited to be breaking ground in the region. The development of the property further highlights our commitment to promoting and supporting tourism offerings throughout Mexico and to the development of several markets within the country.”

The IBEROSTAR Playa Mita, a Premium category resort, features 452 guest rooms, including 120 oceanfront junior suites which are augmented with a dedicated concierge service, and two presidential suites. Guests can spend the day on the beach enjoying non-motorized water sports, lounge by the resort’s two pools, enjoy pampering and total relaxation at SPA Sensations, or get in a workout at the tennis courts and fitness center. Plus, golfers can hit the links at the Litibu Golf Club, conveniently located onsite. This 18-hole, oceanfront, championship course, designed by Greg Norman, wows with stunning views of the Pacific. The undulating greens will be a challenge for golfers of all levels and will serve as a perfect golfer’s paradise, whether it’s a family of sport enthusiasts or it’s a friends’ getaway. After hitting the greens, guests can cool down and continue to take in the unforgettable sights with a poolside drink at the swim up bar.

Known for its gourmet cuisine, IBEROSTAR once again shows its passion for dining with four specialty restaurants offering a variety of cuisine, ranging from Japanese and Mexican to Gourmet fine-dining and an American-style steakhouse. The resort also offers a buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner; snack bar, several cocktail bars and 24-hour room service.

Evenings at IBEROSTAR Playa Mita will be just as fun as days in the sun, with different entertaining shows featured nightly at the resort’s theater, and an adults-only disco playing chart topping hits late into the night. Alternatively, guests can enjoy a more laid back evening of cocktails and conversation at the hotel’s main bar.

IBEROSTAR Playa Mita will also give special attention to its littlest guests. Children ages 4 – 12 can make new friends and lasting memories at the Kids Club, where they’ll play games, make arts & crafts, participate in sports and much more. The resort also offers a separate Kids Pool and Splash Park.

Giving a massage is not particularly difficult, but here are some tips to do it well and with care.

The first thing to take care of is the ambiance. Candles, relaxing music, dimmed lights, and above all a pleasant temperature.

Also get the oils ready. Use moisturizing oils that promote skin repair.

-                      Sweet almond oil: softens and moisturizes.

-                      Rose hip oil: smooths wrinkles, scars, and furrows.

-                      Sesame oil: revitalizing.

-                      Jojoba oil: deeply moisturizing.

And the most important thing: the massage itself. There are many different techniques, but the most important elements are tenderness and touch.

THE CASABLANCA CHAMPAGNE COCKTAIL

Here is the perfect recipe for a scintillating soirée.  We suggest a champagne or cava cocktail in the purest style of Rick’s Café in Casablanca, along with some small details to transform your evening into an immensely glamorous experience.

Ingredients

Champagne or Cava

1 shot of Brandy or Cognac

3 drops of Angostura bitters

1 sugar lump

And also…

Strawberries

A piano

Candles

Preparation

Preparing the champagne cocktail is quite simple. Place a sugar lump in the bottom of a champagne glass and add three drops of Angostura bitters. Add the shot of brandy and then fill the rest of the glass with champagne or cava, always cold.

It is important to use a sugar lump, as you will see a beautiful array of effervescent bubbles as it dissolves. For this reason, serve it immediately so that it can shine in all its glory.

Such a glamorous cocktail deserves a suitable ambiance. Use candles and soft lighting to create an intimate atmosphere and make the champagne bubbles shine with all their splendor. If you accompany the drink with strawberries, you will achieve the necessary exotic and romantic touch. As for the soundtrack to the perfect evening, if you have a piano and know how to play it, this is your moment. If this is not the case, you can always put on some music by, say, Petrucciani. Or indeed the theme music to Casablanca, “As time goes by”, which will transport you to a world of stars…

IBEROSTAR HOTELS & RESORTS UNVEILS NEW

“INSIDE IBEROSTAR” BRAND CAMPAIGN

Behind-the-Scenes Videos Show How IBEROSTAR Creates

Extraordinary Vacation Experiences for Guests

Palma de Mallorca, Spain (February 13, 2013)IBEROSTAR Hotels & Resorts has debuted a new microsite that brings to life the IBEROSTAR experience through documentary-style videos.  It is part of a strategy that, over a three-year period, has focused on brand communication, shifting attention from offline to online communication channels in order to guarantee maximum global coverage and strengthen IBEROSTAR’s key competitive advantages, namely personal service, gastronomy and entertainment.

The highly-intuitive and easy-to-browse Inside IBEROSTAR microsite (www.insideiberostar.com) offers users 13 videos showing real guests enjoying their vacations and behind the scenes looks at how hotel staff ensure guests’ happiness.  Additionally, the microsite allows users to tailor their choice of videos in accordance with their personal travel preferences by asking them three simple questions: 1) What do you look for in a holiday? 2) Are you one of those people for whom eating is a pleasure?, and 3) Who do you travel with?

According to Luis Hérault, IBEROSTAR’s Chief Marketing Officer, “This 100% online campaign meets its prime objective, which is helping our current and future customers to rank IBEROSTAR as their number one option when it comes to where to spend their vacations”.

Developed by the Spanish advertising agency Sra. Rushmore, the new Inside IBEROSTAR website is available in six languages (Spanish, English, Portuguese, German, French and Russian), thereby enabling it to reach consumers in more than 100 countries and almost 90% of the company’s customers, turning it into the company’s first ever 100% global campaign. A major support strategy will also be launched on the company’s social platforms in order to promote and support the microsite’s online presence, together with media plans in the USA and UK, further proof of the campaign’s international vocation.

As Carlos Murillo, Head of Accounts and Digital Integration at Sra. Rushmore explains, “The creative idea of this campaign was clear. It was time to shift the spotlight and provide a documentary-style insight into how the hotel staff makes everything that goes on in the hotel possible, as well as showing what a great time everyone has at IBEROSTAR.”

The history of the IBEROSTAR GROUP goes back more than 120 years, sharing its roots with footwear companies Camper and Lotusse. In 1877 Antonio Fluxá, a master shoemaker, set sail for England to study industrial footwear production. On his return to Mallorca, he gathered together a group of craftsmen from the island’s Inca area and founded the first footwear production company in the Balearic Islands. This enterprising spirit of innovation has been passed down to future generations, through a philosophy based on principles such as love for the profession, honesty, austerity and a commitment to quality.

The Fluxá family were pioneers in using a brand name for their footwear: Lotusse. At the age of 21, Lorenzo Fluxá Figuerola took over from his father as manager of the factory, and continued with the firm’s international expansion. In 1956 he acquired a small travel agency with 6 branches and 40 employees, known as Viajes Iberia, and started to expand the business. One of the maxims Lorenzo repeated over and over again to his children while they were growing up was “You’ve got to be international”.

Years later, Miguel Fluxá would take over the reins of this travel agency. And so, with hard work and enthusiasm for building a dream, combined with the family’s hallmark entrepreneurial spirit, Miguel Fluxá turned his full attention to the tourism business. In 1973 he founded the tour operator Iberojet, and 6 years later embarked on the company’s international venture, opening an incoming travel agency, Iberotravel, with offices in London and Manchester, and Visit US, with branches in Miami and Orlando, to deal with Iberojet customers.

By 1986 Miguel Fluxá had built up a portfolio of companies with a consolidated and widespread reputation. This encouraged him to extend the range of services the Group offered its customers by entering the hotel sector and opening the first IBEROSTAR Hotels & Resorts hotels in Mallorca and the Canary Islands.

After consolidating the Group’s hotel business in Spain, the company continued with its expansion strategy, opening its first establishment in the Caribbean. The beachfront 5 star IBEROSTAR Bávaro Resort opened in Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic in 1993. Since then, this area of the business has enjoyed spectacular growth.

In keeping with the company’s ambitious expansion strategy, 1998 saw the creation of  Iberworld, an airline specialising in charter flights with hubs in Palma de Mallorca, Madrid and Tenerife. This was followed shortly after by founding of Iberojet Cruceros. By 2004, the original 6 travel agencies had become 500 branches situated throughout Spain, and one of the country’s leading tourism groups.

That same year the company created the IBEROSTAR FOUNDATION. The key areas of action of this non-for-profit institution are social aid, cultural development and cooperation for development with a particular focus on children.

In 2006, the  IBEROSTAR GROUP sold its tourism division dedicated to the outbound side of the business, including the tour operator Iberojet, as well as other brands such as Solplan, Turavia or Viva Tours, Iberworld, Iberojet Cruceros and Viajes Iberia network of travel agencies. The aim was to boost the development and expansion of its main area of business, its hotel division.

IBEROSTAR Hotels & Resorts has based its strategy on the following values:  a vocation for service, quality, value for money, innovation and sustainability, promoting and respecting local cultures. A team of more than 23,000 professionals around the world work each day to maintain and strengthen these hallmarks of the Group’s identity.

The latest stage in its ongoing development was the launch of a new category of hotels - , The Grand Collection, offering luxury accommodation for its most demanding customers.

The fourth generation of the Fluxá family is now directly involved in running the company, in keeping with its enterprising spirit, and IBEROSTAR is committed to continuing to invest in those countries it already operates in and to extending its business activity to new destinations and markets.
