Sometimes we insist on travelling to visit remote beaches when we have a genuine earthly paradise right around the corner. This is the case of the best European beach, as chosen by users of TripAdvisor, specifically the 2016 TripAvisor Travelers’ Choice Award for Best Beaches, and the top choice is the beach located on the north coast of the beautiful Balearic Island of Formentera, known as Ses Illetes.
The jury, formed by web surfers and travelers, called Ses Illetes “a paradise you have to visit at least once in your lifetime” and we can only agree with the users of TripAdvisor. Ses Illetes draws your attention immediately for the extremely clear water. Also because of the fine, white sand found on this stretch of land that juts out in the Mediterranean, almost reaching the islet of S’Empalmador. This place is especially renowned for its sunsets, which can be enjoyed all year round. It is particularly enjoyable in the spring, ahead of the many tourists who flock here in the summer months.
The beach is also known by locals and outsiders as an exceptional destination for diving in the archipelago, thanks to its rich sea bed, covered with prairies of posidonia, which make the water crystal clear, ideal for scuba diving. If all this weren’t enough, it has been included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
“Formentera is very close to Ibiza, an island on which IBEROSTAR Hotels&Resorts has the IBEROSTAR Santa Eulalia, your passport to an unforgettable relaxing vacation, a hotel in Santa Eulalia for couples and adults, right by the beach and graced with Mediterranean charm and the spirit of Ibiza, where every minute is filled with pure pleasure, calm and plenty of life.”
