Regardless of whether you’re considering a romantic getaway with your partner, a vacation with children or a week off with a group of friends and all the fun you can get, Tenerife is the destination for you. This sun washed vacation location is visited every year by millions of people seeking relaxation, adventure, good times and fantastic weather.

The north of the island has unparalleled landscapes. Cañadas del Teide is a National Park with an impressive volcanic landscape. It spans 18,990 hectares at an altitude of more than 1,650 meters above sea level with yellowish ocher tones that are sure to catch your eye. The park is named after the Teide, a volcano rising 3,718 meters, the highest mountain in Spain. If you visit it in winter you will see it covered in snow, along with the centellada, large ice crystals covering rocks and plants.

Still in the north of the island, you should visit La Laguna, a city included on the World Heritage List, and Puerto de la Cruz with the huge Lago Martiánez, a lake designed by César Manrique, the Lanzarote-born painter and sculptor. Not to be missed are the Natural Pools of El Guindaste, the Acantilado de los Gigantes [Cliff of the Giants], the Millenary Drago [an autochthonous tree], and the Botanical Garden.

In the south you will find wonderful beaches of gold sand, in sharp contrast to the darker sands found in the north of the island. If you are a windsurf fan, you have to visit Médano beach. Playa de las Américas, one of Tenerife’s core tourist centers, is the location of the most important pleasure harbor, Puerto Colón.

In Tenerife good weather is a staple, so come by and enjoy the sun this winter!
