We all love nighttime parties, but sometimes, with the fatigue built up during the day, we are running on empty by nighttime and unable to approach the evening with drive and energy.
Therefore, we propose organizing a different kind of party, which begins at midday and ends in late afternoon, a party that lasts the same number of hours as an all-nighter, but which is enjoyed in full daylight, with all the energy of the guests focused on having a good time and enjoying themselves.
For this kind of party, it is essential that you always have food and drink that can be enjoyed at any time of day. In this sense, appetizers, snacks, sandwiches, hamburgers, salads and barbecues will be your best friends.
To drink, we propose getting the party started with a lavish drink which your guests can serve for themselves: morning punch, typical of the Dominican Republic. This is how you make it:
- 2 eggs
- 1 large can of evaporated milk
- 1 small can of condensed milk
- 1 and a half cups of water
- 1/2 tablespoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/8 tablespoon of ground nutmeg
- 1 dessert spoon of rum
Beat the egg whites and yolks separately and set aside. Put the evaporated and condensed milk in a pot on the heat along with the water, cinnamon, nutmeg and rum. Leave to boil for two minutes. Add the yolks and whites, constantly stirring the mixture and leave to boil for a further 5 minutes. Serve cold or at room temperature.
Put the punch in a punch bowl and allow your guests to serve it for themselves with a ladle.
You will see that morning punch is the best way to get a daytime party started: it well help your guests find their appetite, keeping pace with their desire to chat and have a good time.
During the day, introduce other drinks into the party, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, but you can always leave the punch where it is because, while it is advisable to drink it in the morning, you will find that your guests will go back to it throughout the party.
By the end of the day you will all be exhausted, but the tiredness will be from having enjoyed the day and laughed so much, leaving you the night to clean up and relax, something you will savor just as much as the good day you have just had.
