Suave Hollywood heartbreaker, George Clooney, was recently seen vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with fellow Thespian Stacy Keibler. During their vacation, Keibler even tweeted a photo of a pool surrounded by palm trees.
“Chasing the last days of ‘summer,’” Keibler wrote on Twitter, calling the view “paradise.”
But George and Stacy are not the only celebrities in love with Cabos San Lucas. A-list stars like Jennifer Aniston, Diane Kruger, Jessica Alba and Jennifer Lopez are also frequent visitors of this region of Mexico, drawn here by its perfect weather and miles of beautiful beaches. Situated at the tip of the Baja Peninsula where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean, Cabo San Lucas offers a different side of Mexico to explore as part of your Iberostar vacation.
Cabo: A Celebrity Playground
Cabo, as it’s affectionately known, is famed for its sandy beaches, world-class dive sites, and abundant marine life. Most importantly, it’s just a hop away from Hollywood (1,000 miles from the US/Mexico border). Instead of jetting halfway around the world to far-flung isles, celebrities choose to vacation here in their free time.
With such attractive characteristics and appealing location, Cabo San Lucas has developed into a major tourist spot – littered with souvenir stores, malls and tacky restaurants. But all is not lost, there’s still a hint of tradition here if you look. Tired of tourist traps? Head on over to San José del Cabo, a nearby traditional Mexican town founded in the 1700s by Jesuit missionaries. Here, you may just find the Mexico that you’d been looking for. If you’re here in the right season, you can even see whales up close, breaching the waters of the Pacific.
For those interested in experiencing how it feels like to be a celebrity, get yourself a cool ride by hiring a Porsche Boxster or Mini Cooper convertible. Cruise through the fancy boulevards and wine and dine at Cabo’s best restaurants – you might just rub shoulders with some serious celebrities. Alternatively, head down to the Shoppes at Palmilla, where Clooney, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas, among others, have been spotted browsing local artwork. Whether you’re into celebs and glamor, or old-fashioned Mexican charm, you’re sure to find a pleasant surprise in this corner of Mexico.
